This young model has been crowned the transgender beauty queen of 2016Thai model Jiratchaya Sirimongkolnawin has been named Miss International Queen 2016.IndiaToday.
   

Model Jiratchaya Sirimongkolnawin has been crowned Miss International Queen 2016 at what is considered the largest and the most popular transgender pageant of the world.Launched about a decade ago to help mainstream the transgender women of the world,the pageant recently concluded its 12th edition inPattaya, Thailand. The show was postponed fromNovember as part of a national mourning of the death of Thailand's king.Interestingly, the winner herself hails from Thailand, a country that still remains quite a conservative society with no prominent laws recognising the LGBTQ community.
It's like a new category, but the gender already existed a long time ago," Jiratchaya was quoted saying by Reuters.
ReutersDonning a white glittering and black side rim evening gown, the 25-year old Jiratchaya beat 24 other contestants for the crown. The second and the third position were awarded to contestants from Brazil and Venezuela, respectively.
