Power Rangers (billed as Saban's Power Rangers)[3] is an upcoming 2017 American science fiction superhero drama film directed by Dean Israelite and written by John Gatins, Kieran Mulroney, Michele Mulroney, Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. The film is based on the franchise of the same name, it stars Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Bill Hader, Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Banks.

As the third film to be based on the brand , it serves as a reboot and reimagining of the franchise and the first feature film since Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie. The film features most of the main characters of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers although portrayed by a new cast. Franchise creator Haim Saban returned to produce the film under Saban Capital Group. Power Rangers will be released in the United States on March 24, 2017.

Plot

Five troubled teenage student outcasts: Zack, Kimberly, Billy, Trini, and Jason become the Power Rangers after learning that their small town of Angel Grove and the world are threatened by an alien force led by Rita Repulsa.

Release Date

Originally scheduled for release on July 22, 2016,[63] Lionsgate later delayed the release date to March 24, 2017.[64]
